Edwardsville Road Construction

I think the construction on Edwardsville rd. from rte. 111 to 143 is terrible. It took way to long. I know weeks if not months went by without anything being done. I know this has hurt business for those on that part of the road. I mean they built a gas station at the Woodriver Shop 'n' Save and at the Alton Shop 'n' Save in half the time. Also according to the latest city council records it is just phase 1 that has cost around 43,000 dollars to do. What do you think?

New Banks to the Area

I am pretty happy that there is now a branch of the Edwardsville bank here in Woodriver. I hated to have to drive all the way to Bethalto to deposit money in the bank. That being said, I do think we are getting way to many banks in the area here lately. The new Cloverleaf bank that is going to be at 143 & 111 is going to be a bit of an eye sour I think. Also it seems like it is taking them forever to get it done. What do you think?

New Hotel

For my very first post I am going to post about the new hotel. I read in The Telegraph that the city is excited about YTB International putting in a new convention center and possibly putting in a hotel. For this they are trying to annex in roughly 30 more acres so they can get the extra tax revenue from this. Only problem I see is they always give these big companies massive tax breaks. So in the long run does it relly help us all that much? You decide.
